Wow the press really hated this collection. In Damien Hirst’s return to painting he made some heavy Bacon references in 25 oil based works. It was interesting as he clearly was using this show as a relearning of a few themes as well as techniques. I bet we see more paintings out of Hirst in coming years. I thought the most interesting part of the exhibition was that he curated the Wallace collection by ‘tagging’ various pieces around the collection that inspired “No Love Lost”.
